Golf lessons and golf clubs custom fit go hand in hand. Imagine being taught to run, but given a shoe that is 2 sizes too small. Well, taking golf lessons and using clubs that aren’t fit for you have the same effect.
At the Mike Warobick Golf Academy getting our students custom fit into a club that is perfect for them and within their budget. We want to help you improve every part of your game and getting the correct equipment is a big part of that.
Although observing what skill level you may be, fitting someone for clubs requires a lot more than just watching someone hit balls and making the best educated guess to which club is best.
For iron fittings, understanding your swing is very important. One of the first things we do is have you hit off of what is called a “lie board”. By having you hit golf balls off the board, we are able to observe the scuff mark on the bottom of the club to determine the lie of the clubhead that would best suit you.
Next, we analyze the speed of your swing. This is one of the most important aspects because this helps us to determine the shaft flex that best suits your game.
Once the lie angle, shaft flex, and length of shaft is determined, we start analyzing which brands perform best with your swing. Many people have a favorite brand and we make sure that is available, but in many cases, the best club fit is a different brand.
Whether you are getting fitted for irons, wedges, woods, a driver, or a putter, club fittings can be one of the most fun eye opening experiences any golfer of any skill level can have. We promise it’ll be great experience for you.
